Strom – stream – Magra

Egyptian-german artist-in-residence and exhibition project by EMPARTOLUTION in cooperation with Künstlerforum Bonn and Fabrik 45
Project duration  1.4. – 1.5.2016                   Exhibition 16.4. – 1.5.2016

For two weeks five artists from Egypt and five artists from Germany will come together in the city of Bonn. They will transform the venues Künstlerforums Bonn and Fabrik 45 into their studios to collaboratively develop the exhibition „Strom – stream – Magra“. The artistic dialogue will be open to public. A work in progress tour provides an insight into the emergence of the artworks and provides the opportunity to meet the artists. The exhibition starts on April 16th and will be accompanyied by a versatile programme that repeatedly invites the public to visit the venues.

The project focuses on intercultural communication through art. So for the time being the topics dealt with and the general outcomes of the project remain open. Yet the biographies, experiences and former works of the participating artists give reason to expect a fascinating examination of the direct surroundings, political and sociological issues and present-day debates.
